Overview

An audit is an independent examination of your financial statements against an applicable reporting framework, resulting in an opinion on whether they present a true and fair view. For many UAE entities it is not optional: most free zone authorities require audited financial statements as a condition of licence renewal, and mainland companies may need them for banking facilities, shareholder reporting, or the substantiation of a corporate tax return. We conduct statutory audits of financial statements prepared under IFRS and IFRS for SMEs, and we work from your accounting records rather than reconstructing them — which is why the quality of your bookkeeping largely determines how long an audit takes and what it costs. Where records are incomplete, we say so early rather than at the end. Beyond the statutory audit we run internal audit and risk reviews for businesses that want assurance over their own controls: how payments are authorised, how inventory is counted, where a single person holds incompatible responsibilities, and which processes would fail under scrutiny. These engagements are advisory and do not produce a statutory opinion. An audit opinion is an opinion on the financial statements. It is not a guarantee that a business is solvent, compliant with every regulation, or free from fraud, and we are careful not to present it as one.

Warum Al Aegis

We tell you what is missing first

Records get reviewed for completeness before fieldwork begins, so gaps surface at the start rather than as a late scope change.

Free zone requirements understood

Different authorities ask for different things at renewal. We work to the specific requirement of your registry rather than a generic template.

Joined up with your bookkeeping

Where we maintain the records, the audit works from a set already prepared to be audited — which shortens the engagement.

Häufige Fragen

Does my UAE company need an audit?
It depends on your jurisdiction and circumstances. Most free zone authorities require audited financial statements for licence renewal, and banks or shareholders may require them independently. Requirements are set by the relevant authority and change from time to time, so confirm your current obligation before assuming either way.
How long does an audit take?
The variable is the state of your accounting records, not the audit itself. A clean, reconciled ledger with supporting documentation moves quickly; incomplete records require reconstruction work before an opinion can be formed.
Is an audit the same as bookkeeping?
No. Bookkeeping produces the financial records; an audit is an independent examination of them. For independence reasons, the scope of work we can perform on both for the same entity is limited, and we will tell you where that line falls in your case.
